About Highfield Leadership Academy
Highfield Leadership Academy is a state-of-the-art secondary school for 11 to 16 year olds in Blackpool. We joined Star Academies in 2016 and, like all Star schools, we have a leadership specialism.

Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for a dedicated individual to provide tailored Higher Level Teaching Assistant support to our pupils. You will be committed to making a positive difference to young people’s lives and in supporting and developing their learning. Your intervention will help enable an outstanding learning environment for our young people, providing the support they need to succeed.
The successful candidate will be a committed team player with excellent organisational and technical skills. You will have the ability to effectively support learning and teaching, and to develop relationships across our school and the Star community.
You will have:
- GCSEs in English and Mathematics at Grade C (or 5) or above and Level 3 qualification (NVQ level 3 or A level).
- Experience working with children in a secondary school or other setting.
- Experience supporting children with special educational needs and/or Disabilities (SEND).
- The ability to maintain positive relationships with students, parents and staff.
- Good ICT skills for word-processing, use of learning software and accessing on-line resources.

Highfield Leadership Academy in Blackpool, Lancashire is a 1200 place, 11-16 secondary school and is part of Star Academies. We joined Star on 1 April 2016 and like all Star schools, “Leadership” is our specialism.
As a designated Leadership Academy, we are keen to ensure our pupils are offered encouragement and a wealth of opportunities to develop their natural skills, abilities and potential. We actively provide learning opportunities to teach performance leadership skills through project-based learning and community work.
