Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) job summary
We have a rare and exciting opportunity for an amazing person to join our team; working across both of the small village primary schools in our Federation.
If you are a member of support staff with the HLTA qualification (or, indeed a person with Qualified Teacher Status), looking for a new challenge and have the dedication required to make a difference to children in two schools, then this is the opportunity for you.
You will be working across two school sites, supporting individual children, providing group or whole class support as well as providing whole class cover as needed. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, flexible and can manage their own timetable effectively.
Our two schools work together in a federation and several members of staff work across both sites. You would be supported by the SENCO and the Leadership team in this valued and enhanced role. Our teachers appreciate how the HLTA can release them for short periods of time in order to attend meetings and courses. The children value the additional support from an experienced member of support staff. The schools are just two miles from each other.
Commitment to safeguarding
John Keble Church of England Primary School and Hampshire County Council are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks along with other relevant employment checks.

Ampfield School and John Keble School, Hursley, joined together in a federation at the beginning of the academic year 2013. We are excited about how we can continue to grow together and be efficient in our promotion and support for high quality learning and teaching in both schools. Moments away from each other, the two schools are different in character but share the same philosophy and values. Ampfield is a very small primary school, with two classes. John Keble is a smaller than average primary school with six classes. We’re excited about welcoming new members of staff into our school and federation team and they would be very well supported by a friendly team of teachers, support staff and leadership team in addition to professionals from external agencies.
