Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Maternity Cover job summary

As a HLTA, you will plan, prepare and deliver learning to individual pupils, small groups and classes as required whilst being able to build and maintain successful relationships with pupils, treat them consistently, with respect and consideration, and be concerned for their development as learners.

You will be responsible for teaching and learning activities with either individuals, groups or whole classes of pupils, including where the assigned teacher is not present, to ensure their safety and facilitate their physical, emotional and educational development

About You

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a school setting, teaching individuals, small groups and whole classes and will also be educated to QTS or HLTA status. You will have experience in delivering phonics at all levels and how to support children with early reading and maths, and will be able to:

Able to work independently and in a group

Able to build successful working relationships

Adaptable

Empathetic with those facing barriers to their learning
