Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Maternity Cover job summary

  • Fixed Term Contract until January 2027 (or the return of the post holder, whichever is soonest)
  • 12 hours per week, covering Monday and Tuesday, Term Time Only
  • Salary NJC Grade SO1, Scale Points 23 to 25, £34,434 to £36,363 per annum
  • Actual Salary £9,370 to £9,898 per annum

The Governors are looking for an excellent and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), to join our happy and successful Catholic primary school. The position is suitable for qualified HLTAs and candidates who have qualified teaching status. The role will involve covering a range of classes between Year 1 and Year 6, for 3.5 days a week

We are looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant who:

  • Supports the Catholic/Christian ethos of the school.
  • Is a talented primary practitioner with high expectations and standards, who will be committed to the progress of all children.
  • Has experience of working with children with special educational needs.
  • Is able to use their initiative and work flexibly supported by a strong team.
  • Is an excellent communicator, able to liaise successfully with children, colleagues and parents.
  • Will be committed to attending staff and moderation meetings across the Trust, after school.
