Higher Level Teaching Assistant job summary
About the Role
The Higher-Level Teaching Assistant will be required to work as part of a team of teachers, teaching assistants and other professionals under the direction of the Enhanced Resources Provision Manager delivering supportive learning.
HLTAs will provide learners with the confidence to actively engage in school life to develop high levels of social interaction and independence, preparing them for the next stage in their education.
About You
The successful candidate will have experience of working with young people in an educational setting and the ability to establishgood professional relationships with students and colleagues. The successful candidate will have an understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and the ability to contribute to the development, monitoring and review of Education Health and Care Plans.
Candidates will also be educated to GCSE A-C (or equivalent) in both English and Maths, meet HLTA standards (or equivalent qualification), be organised, reliable and resilient, and be committed to their own learning.A degree level qualification would be desirable.

Holderness Academy & Sixth Form College is a large comprehensive school with 1108 students on roll, including 105 in the Sixth Form. The Academy is situated in the East Riding of Yorkshire and located in the small village of Preston. It sits six miles to the East of Hull and one mile from the town of Hedon.

On 1 October 2018, Holderness Academy and Sixth Form College (formerly South Holderness Technology College) joined a multi academy trust, ‘The Consortium Academy Trust’ (TCAT). TCAT currently comprises of six secondary schools and two primary schools, as well as two associate members, with a total of approximately 8,000 learners and a significant staff team.
