We are seeking to appoint an exceptional and experienced higher-level teaching assistant to collaborate with the SENDCo and curriculum managers on the planning and delivery across a curriculum to a small class of pupils, who are working below their current key stage level.

This is a unique and specialist role for an experienced HLTA who can demonstrate outstanding support within our Enhanced Resource Base for cognition and learning. In this role you will be the consistent presence that the pupils need during the school day, demonstrating strong behaviour management and high expectations are essential in this role. Your support to the pupils will be vital in ensuring they gain positive learning and social outcomes.

In this role, you will be expected to lead small group teaching within the ERB and support relevant teaching staff with the transition of students into mainstream education as appropriate. You will undertake any other relevant duties given by the SENDCo, and will contribute to effective assessment and planning by supporting the monitoring, recording and reporting of pupil performance and progress.

The successful candidate will:

  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of the curriculum through adaptive teaching, dynamic and imaginative delivery.
  • Work collaboratively with a committed team of supportive and skilled teachers and support staff.
  • Have a range of different skills to nourish the development of our young students into successful learners.
  • Promote students’ independence, self-esteem and problem solving.
