Higher Level Teaching Assistant job summary
Lower Meadow Primary is a forward thinking and rapidly developing school. We are seeking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant who will develop and prepare resources and contribute to the planning of opportunities for pupils to learn. This is a two day a week, term time opportunity working 15 hours per week.
The successful candidate will have experience of working with children across a wide range of abilities to ensure good progress in all areas, and of working with those with social interaction and communication difficulties.
Our Higher Level Teaching Assistants:
- Establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations
- Support children consistently whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs
- Liaise with teachers to deliver activities to support pupils’ learning, and provide the teachers with feedback on impact
- Model and promote positive values, attitudes and behaviour.

- Have recent, relevant and successful experience in a primary school setting
- Build and maintain successful working relationships with pupils
- Support the inclusion of all pupils, including those with specific needs
- Want to make a real difference
- Promote good behaviour and deal promptly with conflicts and incidents
- Utilise strategies to support pupils in achieving learning goals.
