We expect that our Higher Level Teaching Assistants will possess the following skills and qualities. Those new to the profession should possess these or be willing to work towards them with the full support of our school. Above all else, we are looking for individuals who value the power of education for young people.

  • HLTA qualification or significant experience of working within this role
  • Experience of working with a range of students with SEND
  • Experience of the National Curriculum for Key Stage Three and Four
  • Resilience

  • Empathetic with the ability to make strong, positive relationships

  • Commitment and passion to support the students to achieve their best.
