Stockport School is looking to appoint Higher Level Teaching Assistants to support teaching, learning and progress, and the development of independent learning skills of students with additional learning needs, particularly including those with EHCPs and those at SEN School Support.

Candidates should be well qualified with strong GCSE passes in at least English and mathematics at minimum grades C or 4 and above, including additional strong GCSE and/or A Level passes (or equivalent) in other subject areas. It would also be desirable for a candidate to be a graduate with a good Honours Degree or other Higher Educational qualification, Qualified Teacher Status, or HLTA qualified Status.

Higher Level Teaching Assistants who decide to embark on this route will be supported in their applications for PGCE and Schools Direct training courses.

The hours of work are 31.5 per week, 8.30am - 4.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 3.00pm on Friday on a term time, plus 2 Inset Training days only contract. Additional paid overtime hours are also available to attend meetings where necessary, and to supervise reading & literacy interventions, student enrichment clubs, lunch duties, and student work at lunchtime and after school).
