What skills and experience we're looking for

Are you a highly experienced Teaching Assistant who is looking for new opportunities and responsibilities?

Are you passionate about PE and Sports?

Do you want to make a real difference to children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties?

The role of Specialist Teaching Assistant will provide short-term cover for teaching staff primarily covering PE lessons and other PPA cover, participate in planning meetings and work in partnership with the Inclusion team to support our alternative provisions.

We are completely dedicated to providing a holistic approach to learning with a team of highly motivated and caring education professionals, who strive for nothing but the best for each and every child. To this end, we are developing our provision to meet the needs of children and work in an inclusive and therapeutic way.

Importantly, our children know exactly what they are looking for in an experienced teaching assistant:

  • “Someone who listens and includes us all”
  • “Someone who doesn’t mind mistakes because that’s how we learn”
  • “Someone who tells us what we need to do next in order to improve”
  • “Someone who makes learning fun”

We are looking for an outstanding Teaching Assistant who holds an HLTA qualification (or the desire to train) who can demonstrate significant experience of supporting children to improve their behaviour and learning.

We can provide you with a strong team of enthusiastic, dedicated colleagues who will support you to the fullest, and opportunities to grow professionally.

“There have been many changes at Whitley Park. Leaders make decisions that benefit pupils but are mindful of staff well-being too. As one member of staff said, ‘Our headteacher really looks after his staff.” (Ofsted, December 2021).

If this sounds like the school for you, we would love to hear from you.
