Higher Level Teaching Assistant job summary

To work with teachers & SENCo to plan, organise and support teaching and learning activities for SEND pupil & small groups, in order to provide them with an outstanding education. Deliver their EHCPs and support transitions during the day To complete specified work for individuals and groups under the direction and supervision of a qualified teacher. Promoting and embedding the school’s ethos and values in everyday activities. Work may be conducted in the classroom or may take place outside the classroom. This role will include working 1:1 with pupils to support their individual needs.

We are looking for Higher Level Teaching Assistants who:

  • Have experience of working within a primary school
  • Have an understanding of effective teaching methods and able to plan, organise and support teaching and learning activities
  • Can build relationships with and nurture pupils to enable positive educational outcomes
  • Are passionate about supporting children with SEMH and SEND
  • Have experience implementing positive behaviour strategies
  • GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English grade C/4 or above
  • Have excellent communication skills and a flexible approach to working
  • NVQ2/3 or equivalent or working towards the qualification is desirable
