Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Spanish) - Band 6, point 9 to 13 job summary
The acquisition of Spanish is a key part of our vision for an all through education at Mayfield. Consequently, we teach Spanish from Year 1 through to Year 8 as a compulsory subject and offer French from Year 9 for those who wish to pursue two languages. Results in Spanish and French are on an upward trajectory and therefore more pupils are choosing these subjects at KS4. An opportunity has arisen for a highly proficient speaker of Spanish to join us as a HLTA within our school. Whilst this role would mainly involve working within our Primary Section, we would also offer the opportunity to support learning in our Senior School. We are particularly interested in recruiting a person who may wish to train as a teacher at a later stage or have previous experience of teaching languages. This role would suit a graduate from a Spanish speaking country or a person who has relocated to the UK and wishes to pursue a career in education.
Commitment to safeguarding
Mayfield School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. New members of staff will be required to apply for Disclosure Service certification as part of the School's staff recruitment process. Under the rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1075, applicants for teaching posts are among those who are not entitled to withhold information about any previous criminal conviction.
