As a Special School, we believe what we offer to our children, community and staff is unique and enables us to be forward thinking in terms of curriculum, provision and budget planning. As a specialist school for children with a wide range of SEN needs we have a strong moral compass in everything we do and this has seen us develop and grow our number on roll (currently 123). Our specialisms are predominantly within Autism, Communication Needs and Social, Emotional and Mental Health.
Our staff are our greatest asset and we invest in both our teaching and support staff CPD which has placed us in a good position with regards to current educational challenges.
Our Opportunity
Our school is growing and is very popular with parents and within the community. As a result we are looking to appoint a highly motivated HLTA to join our school and work with our children and support them to be the best they can be. As a school we follow a primary model with the class lead delivering the whole curriculum as opposed to subject specialists.
Working in our school is incredibly rewarding as we all work together as part of the team enriching the education of our pupils. Our staff are highly regarded and we pride ourselves on developing our teams to excel and develop their career through specialised training and career paths.
We encourage applications from candidates who have a passion for special education and wish to work in a setting which offers reward and challenge and where no two days are the same!
Applicants should have a genuine interest in working with children with special needs and are required to have:
• Good written & communication skills
• Experience appropriate to working with children in an education setting.
• Be committed to fostering an environment that is encouraging, caring and supporting, with the physical and medical needs of children being catered for to the highest standard
Experience of working with children with challenging behaviour is desirable. For an informal discussion please contact Headteacher (Michelle Hockham) on: 01723 373260
This is an excellent opportunity to join a school that is friendly, supportive and committed to high standards of education and welfare for children.
