What skills and experience we're looking for

The Governors seek to appoint a skilled, high-quality professional to join the strong staff team in this high performing, popular and friendly school.

The ideal candidate will need to:

  • Be an excellent classroom practitioner, experienced in delivering lessons to whole classes
  • Have experience of planning and delivering lessons in a range of subjects in Key Stage 2
  • Have excellent classroom management skills
  • Be a well organised, warm, friendly and flexible team player
  • Demonstrate initiative and excellent self-management
  • Have excellent numeracy, literacy and communication skills
  • Be committed to providing a high-quality education for all children
  • Be determined to inspire and motivate children to achieve their full potential
  • Have a positive attitude towards professional development, seeking own CPD opportunities as relevant

The prime objectives of the post will be:

  • To cover classes for Leadership Team release and Early Career Stage Teacher (ECT) release, delivering lessons that are planned by class teachers (mainly across KS2)
  • To plan and deliver lessons as part of our PPA provision in years 4, 5 and 6
  • To work with children on interventions, catch-up and booster programmes
  • To contribute towards pupil assessment, attainment tracking and reporting
  • To support our school in our strong commitment to safeguarding children

Menston Primary School is a warm, friendly and successful school full of brilliant people (most of them under 12 years old!). Our children are fabulous.
