We are looking to appoint a passionate and dedicated HLTA to join our academy. The purpose of this role is to collaborate with teachers in planning and delivering programmes of teaching and learning activities for individuals, groups and whole classes within a framework agreed with and under the overall direction and supervision of a qualified teacher.



Key responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver assigned programmes of teaching and learning activities to individuals, small groups and/or whole classes modifying and adapting activities as necessary under the overall direction and supervision of a teacher
  • Assess the needs of pupils and use detailed knowledge and specialist skills to support pupils’ learning.
  • Develop and implement Individual Development Plans for pupils (such as Individual Educations Plans) including attendance at, and contribution to, reviews.
  • Support pupils in social and emotional well-being, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate.
  • Establish constructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs.


Pay range: SCP 22-27 £27,585.38 - £31,438.57 (FTE: £31,364.00 - £35,745.00)


Qualifications and Skills:

  • GCSE Maths and English minimum grade C or equivalent
  • Meet Higher Level Teaching Assistant standards or equivalent qualifications or experience
  • Relevant educational experience supporting a child/children in a school setting and the relevant age range
  • Experience of working with children who have a wide variety of educational needs
