What skills and experience we're looking for

Work Commitment 31.5 hours per week (Monday, Thursday and Friday 8.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on a Tuesday and 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on a Wednesday with a 45-minute unpaid lunch break on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and 1-hour unpaid lunch break on a Tuesday, Term time only, plus training days (39 weeks)

Salary Range Level 4 SCP 12-19 (£24,496.00-£27,852.00 Gross FTE) depending on experience and qualifications

We have an exciting opportunity to appoint a dedicated, resourceful and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant who will have some responsibility for safeguarding and family support.

You must have experience as working as a HLTA and be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of working to the required level. You must show a proven record of the requirements of working as a HLTA with children and have the ability to asses, promote and encourage, whilst having good planning and observations skills together with experience of working with children across the primary age range.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Level 4 childcare qualification;
  • Experience of working with children with additional needs;
  • The ability to build good relationships with children, parents/carers and colleagues;
  • A commitment to equal opportunities;
  • The ability to work in a team but also to use your own initiative;
  • Organisational and time management skills;
  • The ability to focus learning in a proactive, creative and positive manner as well as evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities;
