Higher Level Teaching Assistant (with Teaching Assistant hours) job summary

Salary: NJC Grade C (Teaching Assistant) and Grade E (Higher Level Teaching Assistant): £21,575 - £29,439 FTE (This will be paid pro-rata to reflect hours and weeks worked, and according to split of contract)

Working Pattern: This is a part-time, permanent position working 24 hours per week (12 hours HLTA, 12 hours TA), 39 weeks per year

Orchard Vale Community School are seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant/Teaching Assistant. The structure of the position will be a split role with 12 hours per week at an uplifted Higher Level Teaching Assistant Grade E and 12 hours per week as a Teaching Assistant at Grade C.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate who:

Will be enthusiastic, flexible, and highly motivated to prepare and deliver lessons to individuals, groups, and whole classes. Has relevant qualifications of NVQ 4 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent HLTA standards or experience. Has an interest to work with SEND (desirable but not essential) Will work collaboratively with teaching staff and assist teachers in the whole curriculum planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources. Will be expected to show a high degree of initiative and be able to react to given solutions with integrity and compassion. Can inspire and motivate children and enable them to be the best that they can be. Has the ability to encourage every child to learn, aspire and achieve. Has enthusiasm, skill, and the desire to make a difference.
