Highcrest offers both an excellent induction and support programme for NQTs. This provision of training has been praised as outstanding by an external assessor and highlighted in the local press. We provide weekly CPD meetings with experienced members of staff, time-tabled and protected Mentor Meetings on a weekly basis, subject knowledge time with departments, an extensive personalised CPD plan and a two-week paid induction period in June/July. The Humanities department has gone from strength to strength in recent years as we offer more curriculum options, with passionate subject specialists who are friendly and supportive. The department has seen a rapidly increasing growth in the number of students choosing options within the Humanities disciplines, both at KS4 and KS5, and joining us at this time of growth could offer some exciting opportunities.

We are seeking to appoint an excellent History teacher who has strong subject knowledge to join our team. Committed to raising attainment, you will have the ability to motivate students and help develop an engaging and inspiring curriculum in History across all key stages. Our History department prides itself on its commitment to ensuring pupils achieve their full potential and push themselves beyond their comfort zones.

Just 30 minutes by train from Central London, The Highcrest Academy is the first All Ability Academy in the county of Buckinghamshire. It is culturally diverse and a vibrant school making it a fantastic place to teach. We have some students who will need all your support and yet have also featured in the national Ofsted report for providing challenge to the most able.

There are approximately 1,000 students on roll, which includes the Sixth Form. A new building programme, just completed, comprises a brand-new Sixth Form Centre, sports facilities including a gym, and a new restaurant and coffee shop for both students and staff. There is also the possibility of shared living accommodation.
