Further details about the role

We invest heavily in our outstanding History department. Pupils at AGFS have consistently achieved some of the strongest results in the school over the last three years. History is highly valued and taught as discrete subjects throughout the curriculum each week from Year 7-9. All history teachers contribute to the teaching of RS at Key Stage 3. In Year 9 pupils will select their GCSE option subjects and approximately two thirds of each cohort choose History. Our first-class History classrooms, which afford beautiful views across London, offer the ideal environment for our GCSE History pupils to thrive and fulfil their potential. The department specific Progress 8 score has been +1.3 for the last two years. In 2022, one quarter of our history cohort achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE History. In 2023, 50% of all scholars taking the subject achieved a grade 7 or above.

The successful candidate will be capable of adding further value to a traditionally strong subject at the school. A passion for your subject and a commitment to extracurricular activities is essential.

This role is suitable for Early Career Teachers.
