History Teacher job summary

Teacher of History
We require a well-qualified and enthusiastic History teacher to inspire our students. We are looking for an individual able to fulfil a team role that will complement the energy, dynamism and originality of thought present in our established team. Candidates will need to be able to teach History up to and including KS5 level. Additional time/allowance for an area of added responsibility would be considered for the right candidate.

This post would suit a teacher of experience (or high calibre ECT) looking to develop their teaching and take on wider responsibilities within the profession. Your professional development is important to us, there are highly supportive induction programmes and CPD opportunities available during your time at the school. Budmouth Academy has a large and successful sixth form. Our current team offers a range of extra-curricular support sessions to ensure students reach their full potential, and if successful, we would hope that you would share this ethic.

The school overlooks the Jurassic coast and within such inspiring surroundings a commitment to teaching through wider learning experiences and fieldwork is essential. Budmouth’s location within a world heritage site is ideally situated to many aspects of Historical enquiry and the department strives to provide learning opportunities that take advantage of this whilst continuing to explore further a-field with educational trips to Iceland, The Somme and New York embarked upon over recent years.

Budmouth Academy Weymouth is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check. We value the diversity of our workforce and welcome applications from all sections of the community.

For specific information regarding the position, please contact the Subject Coordinator for Humanities Mr Martin Pick; mpick@budmouth-aspirations.org.
