Our Opportunity

Following an internal move we are looking to appoint into the post of HLTA (higher level teaching assistant) to be based in our ARC provision.
Our ARC programme adopts a ‘school within a school’ approach and supports our students who are at risk of exclusion in mainstream lessons. We offer them a tailored curriculum and education offer in partnership with our partners ASPIRE from the Sentamu Academy Learning Trust.

As our new HLTA you will join a team of highly trained individuals who look after, understand and discipline children in their tutor group, forming important relationships with parents and carers and contacting home every day.
Full training will be provided by our partners at ASPIRE to support you further with behaviour management and diagnostic skills.

You will:
• Have previous experience in this type of role or with children and young people
• Be able to support in the delivery of high quality learning experiences for all students
• Have high expectations of learning and behaviour and inspire and motivate our children
• Be supportive, nurturing and understanding with high expectations.
• Seek to make learning exciting and a positive experience
• Work well as part of a team
• Demonstrate good communication skills both orally and written
