Working pattern

Full time: Term Time Only - 32.5 hours per week - 8.30am - 3.30pm x 5 days Includes 30-minute lunchtime sports leader and a 30-minute unpaid lunchbreak. If preferable, a four-day contract would also be taken into consideration, as well as the opportunity for extra hours to run after school clubs.

What skills and experience we're looking for

  • Good understanding of child/young people’s development and learning processes
  • An understanding that children/Young people have differing needs and knowledge of inclusive practice
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, as well as child protection and health & safety legislation
  • Demonstrable ICT skills and ability to use them as part of the learning process, or, the ability to develop ICT skills in a reasonable timeframe
  • Good written and verbal communication skills: able to communicate effectively and build good relationships with all teachers, children, young people, families and carers
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a successful team
  • Able to exercise judgement, flexibility, and confidentiality as required.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to all aspects of safeguarding and the welfare of children and young people
  • Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries
  • Emotional resilience in working with occasional challenging behaviours and emotional resilience in working with all pupils
  • Appropriate use of authority and discipline
