HLTA Autism Provision job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a ‘HLTA – Autism Provision’ with proven Autism experience and qualifications to work within our setting. The successful candidate will be working with our SEND pupils providing the communication and interaction / sensory interventions in liaison with the SENDCo and the Trust Director of SEND.

JOB PURPOSE:

The role includes identifying and delivering high quality Autism provisions and multi-sensory intervention support for all pupils with communication and interaction barriers to their learning; delivering understanding autism, friendship skills workshops, social stories, and any bespoke support as required.

They will ensure that pupil voice, and an understanding of individual need alongside reasonable adjustments are communicated effectively to all staff.

The HLTA will lead on any EHCP / SEND K outcomes that require interventions for all pupils with a diagnosis of autism, alongside parent/carer communication and collaboration.

The HLTA will lead on the Umbrella Pathway referral process, liaising with staff, parents & carers and all external agencies and specialists, assisting with the EHCP application process as required.

The HLTA will support and deliver staff and Achievement Assistant CPD training on autism

You must have experience working in education with autistic pupils, have bespoke qualifications and be able to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders, work as part of a team as well as use your own initiative, have a good understanding of and be sensitive to the range of additional needs that pupils can experience, alongside a real strength in communication and interaction barriers to learning. You will work as part of dedicated and passionate SEND team, working to achieve the best possible outcomes for pupils.
