HLTA/Cover Supervisor job summary

SMSG is a friendly supportive school with happy motivated children. We are proud of our school and work hard to promote our school values in all we do. We are looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a team and who is passionate about working with children. Someone who will challenge and motivate our children to be the best that they can be.

You will be a professional and enthusiastic individual who will work both independently and alongside teachers, providing valuable support for Teaching and Learning activities. You will supervise classes of students in the absence of their teacher.

When there are no teacher absences you will provide support in lessons but will also mentor students and teach small groups having the potential to help students through some of the most difficult stages of their education and lives. You will use your specialist knowledge for planning lessons and developing support materials, and provide care and supervision to young people.

The successful candidate will be required to work across both sites as and when directed by the Senior Leadership Team.

Visits to the school are actively encouraged. To arrange a visit please call the school office on 01908 562955.

As part of the Inspiring Futures through Learning, successful candidates will have full access to our staff benefits package, including a bespoke CPD, wellbeing support (Health Assured) discount on gym membership, cinema tickets, cycle to work scheme and much more.

Our children and young people come from a wide range of backgrounds, and so do our colleagues. We aim to reflect and celebrate diversity in our workplace in order to create an inclusive culture that adds real value to our vision of inspiring the futures of us all through learning together.

Our commitment to ensuring equal opportunity and lifelong development is showcased in our 1:1 iPad initiative for learners and teaching colleagues across the schools in our trust. By harnessing the power of technology and collaboration, we aim to reshape and rethink what it means to be a learner into this digital age, and you can play a role in shaping our curriculum offer by joining us on this journey.

Inspiring Futures through Learning is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All employees are expected to share this commitment, to follow IFtL’s safeguarding policies and procedures, and to behave appropriately towards children at all times, both in work and in their personal lives.

All school-based posts are defined as Regulated Activity and therefore this post is subject to an Enhanced with Barred List Criminal Records Bureau check.
