HLTA EAL job summary

We are seeking an HLTA to support our students who require additional support to develop their English language acquisition and enable them to access the mainstream classroom.

At Faringdon Community College(FCC), we have 111 students whose first language is not English. Of these, 63 are refugee children from Afghanistan and Ukraine. These students require additional support to develop their English language acquisition and enable them to access the mainstream classroom.

This role is designed to complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision and responding to the emotional needs of children thereby supporting their readiness to learn. This will involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals / groups, monitoring pupils and assessing, recording and reporting on pupils achievement, progress and development.
