What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking to appoint a HLTA to support the EAL students by providing high quality language support to the students on arrival at the academy and to more advanced bilingual learners in the academy.

The successful candidate will:

  • assess the level of competence in English of individual students and provide tailored support.
  • work and plan collaboratively with the student's teachers providing language support specific to the curriculum.
  • Work intensively with individual students, small groups and support students to overcome barriers to language within the classroom.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with bilingual and minority ethnic learners.
  • Ideally hold a TEFL (English as a Foreign Language qualification)

Hanson serves the population of North Bradford incorporating the communities of Eccleshill, Idle, Wrose, Bolton Woods and Undercliffe, and provides access to all day learning opportunities for our families and our community.
