Greengate Lane Academy has an exciting opportunity for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis. We provide a happy, secure and energetic community in which our pupils and staff can flourish.

As our Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Contribute to planning, preparing and delivery of agreed work and support programmes to individuals or groups of pupils.
  • Under an agreed system of direction and supervision carry our timetabled PPA cover for teachers.
  • Work with the teacher to maintain and develop an appropriate learning environment
  • Promote positive values, attitudes and good pupil behaviour, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents in line with school policy and encourage pupils to take responsibility for their own behaviour.

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Have a good understanding of primary curriculum and how it is assessed
  • Hold an HLTA or equivalent qualification
  • Have the ability to establish good working relationships with pupils acting as a role model
  • Can support the change process, remaining positive during times of change
  • Can provide support for all pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring they are safe and have access to learning activities
  • Have the drive to be highly motivated and self-driven
  • Are will to be open to challenge in order to continue to develop their skills

Greengate Lane Academy is located in the North of Sheffield in the High Green area of the city. We are a one form entry school and have 230 children on roll ranging from three to eleven years.
