HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) job summary

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant working in our school it’s essential that you have:

  • A positive, caring and energetic ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Experience of working successfully with children
  • Achieved HLTA status/equivalent qualification or QTS
  • Excellent literacy, maths and IT skills
  • A positive approach to behaviour management and be highly motivated in caring for vulnerable children
  • The ability to give feedback and support in order for children to make progress in their learning
  • An understanding of how to safeguard children
  • A genuine interest in aiding children’s development

St Matthew’s is a one form entry, voluntary aided Catholic Primary school. Our school is located on the western outskirts of Bradford. We are a diverse community and celebrate that our children come from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.

Our school was judged to be an outstanding Catholic school in the Section 48 Inspection in May 2018, and retained its good Ofsted judgement in January 2018.
