Our Opportunity

We are looking to appoint a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant, to enhance and work under the direction of the class teacher with students who have a ROOSE placement.

You will help to provide a welcoming and supportive environment in which students can thrive as they feel safe, valued and respected.

As our new colleague you will work to support students both within the centre and off site on enrichment placements. The post holder will be able to establish productive working relationships with staff and students whilst working in line with the school’s policies and practices.

The role will be to:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver learning to individuals or small groups, modifying and adapting activities to advance pupils’ learning as necessary within agreed systems of supervision.
  • Cover short term teacher absence and communicate pupil work as planned by the classroom teacher and manage pupil behaviour.
  • Develop an understanding of the individual learning needs of the students’ attending ROOSE
  • Monitor, record and evaluate pupil responses to learning activities through a range of assessment and monitoring strategies against pre-determined learning objectives.
