What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint a Mandarin speaker to deliver our first ever Mandarin curriculum. We have successfully joined the Mandarin Excellence Programme introduced by the British Council. In our first year, four lessons per week need to be taught to Year 7 students new to Mandarin. The candidate would also work as a Language Assistant to complete the two days per week employed.

The successful candidate will:

  • have the vision to help establish Mandarin in our school and inspire the students that are chosen for this exciting opportunity
  • have the vision to fully develop and support the Modern Foreign Languages faculty
  • be an inspirational communicator and have the skills to both challenge and encourage students to achieve their potential
  • have the ability to think creatively and encourage student engagement.

This is a brilliant opportunity to work in a highly experienced MFL faculty that is fully committed to developing a love of languages at RVHS. The Languages Team hosts foreign visits from schools across the globe and they regularly hold language days for our students to engage with.
