HLTA job summary
This is a temporary contract for the academic year 2025-2026. The 5.67 hours will be split across two afternoon sessions at either our Infant or Junior site.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To complement teachers’ delivery of the national curriculum and contribute to the development of other support staff, students and school policies and strategies.
To work collaboratively with teaching staff and assist teachers in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources. Also to supervise whole classes for release time or during the short-term absence of teachers.
To provide support for students, the teacher and the school to raise standards of achievement for all by utilising advanced levels of knowledge and skills when assisting with planning, monitoring, assessing and managing classes, and to encourage students to become independent learners, to provide support for their welfare, and to support the inclusion of students in all aspects of school life.
To use ELSA training to support children and young people in school to understand and regulate their own emotions whilst also respecting the feelings of those around them.
