What skills and experience we're looking for
We currently have a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) position available at our school. This role involves leading a team to support a small group of children with additional needs. Working under the direction of the class teacher(s) and the school’s SEND Coordinator, the successful candidate will provide both educational and emotional support tailored to these children. This includes implementing activities and teaching programmes designed to help them thrive.
Your contribution will be essential in creating an outstanding learning environment and ensuring every child receives the individual support they require to succeed.
Person Specification
We are looking for a candidate who demonstrates:
A positive attitude and reflective mindset
A strong understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
Commitment to ongoing professional development
Dedication to making a meaningful difference in the lives of the children supported
You Will Have:
A minimum Level 3 qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, A-Level equivalent)
Experience working with children in a primary school or similar educational setting
Experience supporting children with SEND, ideally across a range of needs
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents
A collaborative and flexible approach, with the ability to lead and contribute effectively within a team
The successful candidate will be a committed team player with excellent organisational and communication skills. You will bring creativity and structure to your role, playing a key part in supporting teaching and learning throughout our school community.
