What skills and experience we're looking for
We have a permanent position available for an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant. In addition to providing support to the class teacher, you will be required to prepare and deliver elements of learning to pupils on a one to one, small group or class basis. A key responsibility of this post will be to provide guidance and support to our team of Learning Support Assistants.
You will be joining a positive, solution-focused team of staff who are dedicated to help improve outcomes for vulnerable pupils.
The successful applicants will have:
- A good understanding of the KS3 & KS4 curriculum.
- At least two years’ experience of working in a learning/childcare setting.
- The ability to support reading and phonics for those students at the early stages of reading.
- The ability to support our programme of extra-curricular activities.
- A flexible, adaptable and positive attitude to working in a structured environment.
- The ability to effectively communicate with a range of stakeholders.
- Skills of empathy, listening, communication and the ability to respond to unexpressed need.
- The ability to support and direct the work of others
- A willingness to undertake the further training that will be offered.
