What skills and experience we're looking for
Spring Lane School is seeking a HLTA to adopt a central role to the operation of inclusion and reintegration agenda at the school and play a dynamic role in securing or maintaining appropriate pathways for pupils to meet their needs.
Spring Lane School is the Secondary PRU service for Bury, educating pupils that have been referred for alternative to mainstream education, or have been permanently excluded from mainstream secondary. We have a number of SEMH and Pupil Premium pupils, along with those under Child Protection or are part of the Looked After Team.
Successful candidates will be expected to:
- Integrate Permanently Excluded or Dual Reg pupils back into mainstream / chosen schools
- Track progress of Permanently Excluded/ referred pupils to ensure they are meeting targets
- Build profiles of pupils to support moves
- Advise strategies for colleagues to prevent placement breakdowns and promote inclusion
- Oversee safeguarding across designated pupil group
- Work across sites within SLS and/or mainstream environments.
Postholders will demonstrate excellent knowledge of behaviour strategies, classroom strategies, SEND and safeguarding practice, with administrative and organisational skills to track key performance indicators for a cohort of pupils.
Candidates will undergo safeguarding and barring checks, as well as a wider 'search engine' search as part of the safe recruitment process.
