HLTA with Specific Role to Support Children with SEMH Needs job summary

Recently voted in the Edurio Staff Choice Award as one of the top 10 schools in England where staff are proud to work, we are seeking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with a Specific Role to Support Children with SEMH Needs, to join our committed and hardworking team from 2 September 2025.

You will be dedicated and compassionate and support our school to develop a learning space for children with SEMH needs. You will be responsible for supporting children with SEMH needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning, and fostering their social and emotional development. Your role is crucial in creating a safe, nurturing space where our students can thrive and reach their full potential.

This is a role that requires dedication, patience, and a deep understanding of SEMH needs. The rewards associated with this role are invaluable, seeing our children grow, overcome challenges and succeed.

The successful applicants will have an HLTA qualification and 5 GCSE’s with a minimum of grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent qualifications) and a good standard of general education which will be assessed at interview.

This position is fixed term for 1 year and a full-time role, working 39 weeks per year. Applications for part-time working for this post may be considered. Please note: You will be required to work full school days.

Online Search on Shortlisted Applicants

An online check will also be conducted on all shortlisted applicants.
