Home School Link Worker job summary
To be based at the Shenstone Lodge site to support students across placing Local Authorities, such as Sandwell, Walsall, South Staffordshire, Birmingham and others.
To support an exciting period of school growth, we are seeking to appoint a friendly, approachable and enthusiastic Home/School Link Worker to join our staff team. You will be calm under pressure, resilient, confident, curriculum aware and have experience of successfully managing and supporting students and families who can exhibit behaviours that challenge. The post holder will undertake home visits and help to build school connectedness. They will recommend and develop strategies within the school and home intended to improve attendance/Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs of particular pupils. In addition, they will work with identified children during the school day on a 1:1 or small group basis. This will be on-site or off-site as appropriate

The successful candidate will provide/deliver:
- high expectations of academic achievement
- a successful track record of motivating young people
- flexibility in their approach to students and the school itself
- a clear understanding of and ability to manage challenging behaviour
- have access to own transport and a willingness to use it as necessary
- a link during the school holidays as negotiated with SMT
