Housekeeper job summary
The job holder will be responsible for Housekeeping at Glebe Farm School, we are looking for someone who has the ability to maintain the highest standards of cleaning within the school, thereby ensuring the health and safety of children staff and visitors.
Duties
- Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness are always maintained.
- Ensure the school is kept clean and all chemicals and cleaning utensils are used correctly.
- Emptying bins and dispose of waste safely and appropriately.
- Wash, floors using appropriate equipment and cleaning products and warning signs.
- Wash and clean toilets using appropriate materials
- Clean staff room and staff toilets creating a nice environment for staff.
- Clean internal doors, sills and ledges thoroughly.
- Maintain cleaning storage in a tidy and safe condition ensuring the contents of all chemicals are clearly marked and stored according to specific instructions.
- Respond to spillages and cleaning issues as required.
Health and Safety
- Ensure appropriate COSHH records are maintained, and that regulated substances are being stored and used correctly.
- To undergo all necessary training as required, for example manual handling, working at heights, fire and health and safety training.
- Ensure reporting of faults and breakages in line with schools reporting system.
Other
To carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by your line manager or the Head of School. The Academy reserves the right to change this job description.
Any other tasks as directed by the Line Manager which fall within the remit of the post.
