HR administrator job summary

About this Role

We are a growing Multi-Academy Trust, committed to delivering exceptional education through our values of ‘Aiming High’, ‘Being Inclusive’ and ‘Working together.’ With 9 academies under our wing and with a unique blend of primary, secondary and special/AP settings, we are shaping the future of young minds and investing in the development of our dedicated staff. We believe that our people are at the heart of everything we do, and creating an empowering, inclusive, and high-performance culture is crucial to achieving our strategic objectives.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive HR administrator to help deliver excellent customer service and provide efficient onboarding and vetting services to our schools.

We are currently in the process of implementing our new HR MIS, Every, and this will be a key feature of the role going forward in terms of both HR and payroll processes and procedures.

Key responsibilities:

The postholder will be required to:

  • Manage and maintain the Every system, ensuring it runs smoothly and is up to date with relevant HR data and policies.
  • Input and update employee records, including personal information, attendance, payroll, and benefits, into the Every system.
  • Continuously assess and improve HR processes within the Every system to increase efficiency and ensure seamless HR operations.
  • Provide training and support to staff on how to use the Every system effectively, addressing any system-related queries or issues.
  • Process onboarding and vetting checks for staff joining the schools across the Trust.
  • Assist the schools with recruitment processes as requested.

Who we are looking for:

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Passionate about HR and be committed to delivering excellent customer service.
  • Able to work with a high degree of accuracy, confidentiality and attention to detail.
  • Highly organised with excellent administrative skills and able to work harmoniously, efficiently and often under pressure.
  • Flexible, with a ‘can-do’ approach and the ability to work independently.
  • Have excellent communication skills, particularly in the drafting of correspondence and responding to queries. Be able to build effective working relationships and work well as part of a busy team.
  • Be highly proficient in Word, Outlook, and Excel and ideally have experience of using HRMIS software.
  • Be supportive of the core values and ethos of Maiden Erlegh Trust.

The role is hybrid but will require frequent travel to our Shared Services site and to schools within the Trust, the postholder will therefore need to hold a full driving license and have use of a car.

About the Trust:

Maiden Erlegh Trust is committed to developing a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative community of highly effective schools that deliver excellent education opportunities for the children and young people of the communities we serve. Through our work we will ensure that our children are equipped with the knowledge, skills and behaviours to deal with the demands of an ever-changing world. The Trust currently comprises 9 schools in the local area, with a variety of settings including primary, secondary, special and a PRU. As a Trust, we encourage professional development at all levels through the use of cross Trust networks to share best practice and ideas. We also actively encourage the promotion of staff to different roles within the Trust and to different settings in line with their career aspirations.
