HR Assistant job summary

We are recruiting for a new HR Assistant to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is keen to develop their knowledge and experience in HR.

In this role you will work closely with the HR Manager and School Business Manager to develop and maintain excellent HR systems and a warm and welcoming culture at Cheney School. 

You will need to be reliable, enthusiastic, organised, efficient and able to work with a high level of accuracy. There is a lot of contact with staff members, so you will need to have strong communication skills, and be personable and people focused. Prior experience in a school setting is highly desirable. 

Key elements of the role include recruitment administration, staff absence monitoring, maintaining safeguarding records and general HR administration.

This is a full time, permanent post, working term time plus two weeks. This means you would work during the school term, plus an additional 10 days across the year. The additional days will be scheduled around payroll deadlines and INSET days and can be worked flexibly in agreement with the HR and School Business Managers.
