HR Assistant Manager job summary

Polden Bower School are seeking to appoint an experienced HR Assistant Manager to join the existing HR team. They will need to have excellent IT skills, great motivation and organizational skills, as well as being an excellent team player who is reliable with a great sense of humour. This post is based primarily at Polden Bower School however there is a need for flexibility, and you may also be expected to work at our other sites on occasion.

The post is 37 hours per week working all year-round. You will also be entitled to 28 days holiday and in addition to this all bank holidays.

Term time hours of work: Monday 08.30 am – 5.00 pm Tuesday – Thursday 08.30 - 4.30 pm Friday 08.30 - 3.30 pm.(negotiable) September 2024 start date.

Grade 12 point 12 – 19 dependent on experience £26,421-£29777 per annum

Main purpose
Daily support for HR team ensuring the smooth and effective management of recruitment and HR procedures across all of our schools. Responsibility for the line management of part of the HR team and management for some areas of HR procedures.

Duties

  • All recruitment procedures in line with KCSIE and in line with the school policies.
  • Ensure Job Descriptions are up to date and fit for purpose ready for placing of adverts and changing roles within the school.
  • Provide administration support for new staff including managing the induction day and the induction process for staff on all sites under the guidance of the HR Manager and HR team.
  • Oversee probation process for new staff, monitoring progress and ensuring support to mentors who support new staff.
  • Manage supply register for absent staff liaising with agencies when additional staff are needed.
  • Responsibility for data protection - Provide guidance, information and support with GDPR and Data Protection
