HR Business Partner - Primary job summary
First for Pupils. First for Parents. First for Staff. That’s what drives us – and we’re looking for an HR Business Partner who feels the same.
We’re a local Trust, proud of our strong sense of community and the visible, hands-on leadership that defines us. Our team doesn’t hide behind emails or desks– we’re in schools, working alongside our leaders, building trust and making things happen. You'll be as happy in a school office as you are in a strategy meeting.
As HR Business Partner for primary schools, you’ll be out and about – working closely with Headteachers and leadership teams to help them lead confidently and build brilliant teams. You’ll provide expert HR advice, coaching staff, and support on everything from recruitment and employee relations to change management and wellbeing initiatives. You’ll be a key part of a small but supportive central HR team that believe in doing things the right way, with integrity, in line with our ethos.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Partnering with our amazing primary schools to provide practical, people-focused HR support
- Coaching and developing staff in schools to handle HR issues with confidence and care
- Advising on policies, casework, ER, and all the things that help schools run smoothly
- Spotting patterns and solving problems before they become barriers
- Contributing to Trust-wide people projects – with a particular focus on wellbeing and employee engagement
What You’ll Bring
- CIPD Level 5+ or equivalent experience
- A solid HR background, ideally in an education setting
- Strong working knowledge of employment law and best practice
- Confident communicator, natural relationship builder, and trusted advisor
- Positivity, pragmatism and a good sense of humour!
What We Offer
As well as joining a genuinely supportive and collaborative HR team you will have the opportunity to shape how we grow and develop our People Strategy, as well as access to meaningful professional development opportunities.
