What skills and experience we're looking for

Dyke House Academy are looking to appoint an Inclusion Centre Support Officer (Tier 1) to join our committed and highly effective team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting some of our most vulnerable students, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes. Working within our Inclusion Centre, you will provide structure, care and consistency, creating a calm and purposeful environment where every student feels valued, supported and able to succeed.

You will be responsible for managing the day to day running of the Tier 1 provision, supporting students with tailored interventions, and helping them reintegrate successfully back into mainstream lessons. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on working with young people, can build positive relationships quickly, and is passionate about making a lasting difference to the lives of vulnerable students.

As part of our Inclusion Centre team, you will:

  • Support students referred to Tier 1, delivering structured learning and mentoring activities.
  • Monitor attendance, behaviour and progress, maintaining accurate records through academy systems.
  • Liaise with parents, carers and academy staff to ensure effective communication and continuity of support.
  • Contribute to reintegration meetings and help design personalised plans to support positive behaviour and engagement.

  • Has experience of working with young people who display challenging behaviour or require additional support.
  • Can remain calm under pressure and respond with empathy and professionalism.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Demonstrates resilience, excellent communication skills and a positive, solutions focused approach.
