Inclusion Coordinator job summary

We are looking to appoint an outstanding Inclusion Coordinator to join our highly committed and supportive team. The position is for 3 days per week and is non-class based. One of the days must be a Thursday, but there is flexibility around the other 2 days. The vacancy arises following the promotion of the current post-holder to Hertfordshire’s SEND advisory service.

The role of Inclusion Coordinator presents a fabulous opportunity to lead and manage inclusive provision at Knutsford Primary Academy and to be an influential member of the Senior Leadership Team. You will have a clear vision of what inclusion looks like, will be able to lead on inclusive practice throughout the school, work in close partnership with staff, parents and carers, and liaise with a wide range of external professionals. You will be an excellent communicator, have the ability to remain calm under pressure and be able to work well as part of a team and on your own. Although the role of INCO is non-class based, there is an expectation that regular time will be set aside to observe and support pupils with SEND and EAL and to work with our talented team of support staff.

We want our new INCO to add to the strengths that already exist within the school team. We will ensure you have every opportunity to develop and progress as a leader. You will have the support of the SENCOs / INCOs from the other schools within Aspire Academies Trust. They are in regular contact with each other, sharing ideas and providing support and advice. This is an exciting time to join the SEND team in Aspire as the Trust has recently appointed a Trust SENCO to oversee and support SEND provision across all six schools.

The proportion of pupils with SEND at Knutsford is lower than the national average, as is the proportion of pupils with an EHCP. The proportion of pupils with English as an additional language is in line with national data.

We can offer you:

  • A fabulous early years team who work very well together
  • Staff throughout the school who go the extra mile to provide the best they can for the children in their care
  • A school with a very positive learning environment where children enjoy learning and strive to achieve their best
  • An experienced Senior Leadership Team who welcome new ideas and initiatives
  • A supportive parent body and Local Advisory Body

Knutsford Primary Academy is part of Aspire Academies Trust, a multi-academy trust that incorporates Bedmond Academy, Bovingdon Primary Academy, Broadfield Academy, Hammond Academy, Knutsford Primary Academy and The Grove Academy, along with a well-established Training Centre.

The Trust can offer:

  • The opportunity to be part of an expanding organisation with high aspirations, one which is committed to the professional development of all staff.
  • Cross trust networking, partnerships and collaboration of good practice and shared resources to drive the learning environment in all its schools’ forwards towards future excellence.
  • The Trust benefits from its own Training Centre.
  • A truly supportive working environment where employee wellbeing is at the forefront.  The Trust offers a range of support, including menopause support plans and flexible working opportunities.
  • The ability to follow career pathways and progress within the Trust.
  • A wide range of employee benefits such as; local government and teacher pension schemes, an employee assistance programme, free cooked meal daily, occupational health.
