Inclusion Manager job summary

About the role: We have a fantastic opportunity to appoint an Inclusion Manager to become a part of our highly successful team. Joining us from September 2022, the successful candidate will be professional and dedicated to changing the life chances of young people by forging strong relationships based on high expectations with both the student and their parent/carer. Working directly with a dedicated team within The Inclusion Centre, and alongside college pastoral teams, we monitor behaviour, promote success and identify support for both the student and family.

You will have a calm, positive and resilient manner, approachable and warm whilst being able to maintain authority at all times.

In addition to the required experience, and although not essential, a candidate with a sports or performing arts leadership or coaching qualification and a passion to enhance our co-curriculum activities would be desirable. This would entail leading a running club or team which would offer additional remuneration for the right candidate.

If you would like to support young people and enjoy a challenge with a huge amount of job satisfaction, please apply.

Our successful candidate will play a pivotal role working across the academy to:

Establish our intent to embed behaviour as curriculum - designed to develop individual character through ongoing personal development and personal discipline.
To supervise and coordinate the implementation of inclusion as part of the academy’s behaviour management system.
To educate, practice and provide feedback and strategies on positive attitudes and social skills developing individual character within our culture of academic excellence.
To promote the importance of inclusion not exclusion with students, parents and carers.
Supervise and support young people within the inclusion centre, ensuring pupils are completing assigned work to a high standard and provide opportunities for pupils to reflect on and improve their behaviour and attitudes.
To monitor the impact of inclusion strategies and report back to the leadership team.

This is a permanent position offering an actual salary ranging between £20,108 - £22,764 per annum, based on 37 hours per week and Term Time + 1 week inset. The salary will be discussed at point of offer based on experience and the scope that the successful candidate brings to the role.

Mascalls Academy is a high achieving institution. Our most recent Ofsted inspection notes “ambitious leadership has established an ethos where staff are committed to driving standards up”, that Mascalls is a “happy place to be” and that “staff feel valued”. Our judgement that we are a ‘Good’ school with ‘Outstanding’ leadership and behaviour is accurate. It is our vision to become ‘Outstanding’ in every category.
