What skills and experience we're looking for
This is an exciting opportunity for an Inclusion Mentor to join our Inclusion Team and complement the professional work of teachers by supporting the individual needs of pupils who have identified barriers to learning, in accordance with school policy. Day to day responsibilities will be varied but will include:
- Co-ordination of pupil intervention activities for behaviour and SEMH
- Undertaking specific tasks with individuals or groups
- Supporting pupils access their learning
- Ensuring all relevant information relating to the pupil is recorded and relayed to appropriate staff members.
- Providing the students with encouragement, reassurance, and comfort.
- Mentoring support to individual pupils
Our Ideal Candidate Will
- Be approachable and understanding with the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Have highly effective communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Have the ability to organise and prioritise workload
- Be able to identify pupils’ needs quickly and respectfully
- Understand that reliability, tact, diplomacy, confidentiality and sensitivity are paramount to this post
- Have the ability to work as part of a team or on own initiative.
- Be a hard worker
- Want to and be part of a supportive Inclusion team
The successful applicant will enjoy working with 2-11-year-olds. You must be adaptable and willing to be involved in all aspects of school life, have a calm manner and be able to work as part of team. You will share our inclusive values of “Achieving, Caring, Respecting with Confidence” and you will have a willingness to develop your own practice in line with our ethos of continuing professional development.
