Inclusion Room Mentor job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a strong candidate to support teaching and learning at Kingsbury Green Academy. This post involves supervising and mentoring students and maintaining appropriate standards of behaviour in the school inclusion room. Enthusiasm and a strong presence are essential and ideally candidates should have experience of working with young people.
Job Requirements
• To administrate, supervise and mentor students
• Raise any safeguarding concerns using CPOMS and through Teamsafe
• To register and record student attendance on SIMS and supervise students removed from lessons
• To supervise students regarding the written work left by their teacher, ensuring that they understand the work set. Practical and technical activities should not be supervised unless the appropriate training has been given and/or it has been agreed prior to the lesson.
• Create a calm and purposeful environment for students
• To promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
• To communicate with parents/carers regarding student placements
• Provide analysis of the trends and data of the school
• Manage and co-ordinate after school restorative work, including communication with parents when a student does not attend. After school restorative will be supported by the teaching staff where necessary

The right candidate will have:
• QTS Status
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills both in working relationships with young pupils and in forming effective professional relationships with a wide range of contacts.
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Previous experience of working with children and young people in an educational setting.
• Emotional literacy awareness.
