If yes, then we would like to offer you the opportunity to work with us here at St Matthew Academy, a high performing Catholic school where pupils flourish both academically and socially.
We seek to appoint a well-qualified individual to join the Secondary Inclusion Team at our academy. Ideally, you will have prior experience as a KS2 Primary Class Teacher or as a Secondary English specialist. You will join a team of specialist teachers, teaching assistants and other pupil facing staff who focus on providing the very best experience for our SEND pupils. You will be required to teach English to our KS3 Support groups (ACE), may work with small groups of KS4 pupils to support them with their core GCSEs and skills for life or support and teach pupils working in The Lighthouse, our provision for pupils in need of more specialist intervention.The person appointed will be able to demonstrate a range of fundamental skills required for the delivery of a curriculum adapted to meet the needs of children with SEND. They will also be skilled at making and sustaining positive relationships with children, their families and a wide range of external professionals in order to support the pupil’s needs.
In October 2019, Ofsted confirmed SMA as a good school where all pupils, through their hard work and commitment, are able to ‘let their light shine’. In Feb 2023, our CSI inspection stated ‘The behaviour of pupils is exemplary in lessons and around the school, and strong and positive relationships are evident throughout the school.’ We are proud that our pupils are able to learn in an engaging and purposeful environment resulting in strong progress for all. We are now pursuing our mission to embed ourselves as a truly great school at the heart of the community we serve.
