Job Description

  • To work as part of a team to support the work of the AHT Ethos and culture  and Deputy Head staffing and curriculum in working with children who are finding it hard to learn in mainstream lessons

  • To improve attendance and reduce exclusions for Tailored Provision students

  • To support a programme of curriculum learning with a small group of students

  • To deliver a programme of developing effective learning behaviours for students

  • To support the return to mainstream lessons

  • To provide guidance to teachers to support the effective return of students to mainstream lessons

  • To liaise with subject staff for continuity with subjects for individuals.

  • To maintain the provision map and timetables for students in Inclusive Provision

  • To monitor the effectiveness of the provision so that impact can be measured and with support, developing it appropriately.

Safeguarding

Be keenly aware of the responsibility for safeguarding children and to help in the application of the Safeguarding and Safe Practices policy within the school. Comply with the school’s Safeguarding Policy in order to ensure the welfare of children and young persons.


Job Purpose:  

  • To support the work of the AHT Ethos and Culture in enabling students to develop strategies to be effective learners in mainstream lessons

  • To coordinate with curriculum teams and support curriculum learning for students in the provision

  • To deliver a programme of strategies for effective learning behaviours

  • To support students to return to mainstream lessons

  • To support teachers with strategies to help return to mainstream lessons

  • To update pupil profiles with strategies for success in lessons

Principal Responsibilities  

Operational & Quality Assurance: 

  • The day to day management, control and operation of our inclusive provision, including  effective oversight of student timetables and learning arrangements and positive behaviour strategy provision

  • To work with the AHT Ethos and Culture and Deputy Head staffing and curriculum  to monitor student progress in the provision

  •  To implement school policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, and ensuring risk  assessments are in-line with national requirements 

Curriculum Provision and Development: 


To work with curriculum teams and teachers to ensure students continue to learn the curriculum while in the provision


Communications: 

  • To ensure effective and regular communication with class teachers 

  • To communicate with families


  • To contribute to the staff bulletin with relevant information 

Care, Guidance and Support: 

  • To safeguard and promote the welfare of students  

  • To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students in the provision

  •  To monitor attendance of students in the provision
