What skills and experience we're looking for
The successful applicant must be able to work independently and part of a team and work well under pressure. They must have an excellent work ethic. Previous experience in administration or education would be an advantage, but not a limiting factor.
Þ Good standard of general education, including GCSE English and Mathematics (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent
Þ Experience of working in a customer focused environment
Þ Experience with using office software, email, and internet
Þ Experience of using and managing databases (not a limiting factor)
Þ Experience of working in a training or education context (not a limiting factor)
Þ Ability to communicate clearly and accurately at all levels and through a range of mediums
Þ Ability to learn and operate new processes and systems quickly
Þ Ability to organise and prioritise workload
Þ Ability to adapt working practices and be flexible.

What the school offers its staff
The Balcarras Trust is a leading provider of professional development for educators. The Trust runs the GLOW Maths Hub which is responsible for leading maths education in this region. GLOW has an annual turnover of close to £1 million. The Trust has the contract to run the Teaching School Hub for Cheltenham, Stroud and The Cotswolds.
The Trust runs its own School Direct teacher training programme working alongside the Gloucestershire Initial Teacher Education Programme (GITEP) which is run by the Gloucestershire Association of Secondary Headteachers Limited (GASH). In 2024 Balcarras will become the lead school for GITEP.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Þ Responsible for course recruitment administration
Þ Contribute to other aspects of course administration across the GITEP school-centred initial teacher training programme.
Þ Accurately update and maintain recruitment data, ensuring compliance with GDPR policy.
Þ Attend training to enable and develop knowledge of the Initial Teacher Training Criteria and external recruitment management systems such as DfE Publish, Find, Apply, and Register.
Þ Take a role in ensuring that any financial tasks that are within your area of responsibility are carried out in accordance with GITEP’s financial policies and processes.
Þ Liaise closely with both internal staff and external agencies to build and maintain effective working relationships.
Þ Take responsibility with all other members of staff for keeping the appearance of areas of work tidy and pleasant to work in, and for reporting any concerns.
Þ Contribute effectively to whole team working, being flexible in working practice and being able to re-prioritise workload when other team members require support.
Þ Comply with relevant policies, procedures, and financial regulations.
Þ Ensure that Health and Safety instructions are followed.
