Innovation Leader - Computer Science
Harris Boys' Academy East Dulwich, London
|Working pattern||Full-time only|
|Salary||Main pay range 1 to Upper pay range 3, £31,164 to £41,584|
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Computer Science / IT Teacher to join as our new Innovation Leader for Computer Science. At Harris Boys Academy East Dulwich, our Innovation Leaders are senior strand leads with excellent subject knowledge and lead a Department to help drive the academy towards excellence. Our Innovation Leaders are highly regarded within the academy and specialists within their field, but also hold whole school responsibilities working collaboratively with departments across the academy.
We want to hear from experienced middle leaders who have gained substantive teaching experience in Computer Science and/or IT, and are passionate about computer science. If you are looking for a leadership role which offers challenge and the opportunity to develop your skills and experience as a leader, not just within an Outstanding academy, but also the wider Federation, then this could be the perfect opportunity. This is an exciting position which offers a great deal of support and the chance to join a friendly, highly experienced academy team with a truly collaborative culture. Innovation Leaders hold similar responsibilities to a Lead Practitioner so this role could suit existing Lead Practitioner, or potentially, an aspiring lead practitioner.
We are ideally looking for someone who can start in January 2020 or Easter 2020, but we can be flexible on start date to accommodate the successful applicant. We also have the opportunity to offer flexible working hours for the right applicant.
Come and see us in action: visits to Harris Boys' Academy East Dulwich are strongly encouraged and very welcome. Please call 0208 299 5300 or email email@example.com to arrange a time to come in or an informal conversation with the Principal.
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead an established and successful department at a thriving academy where you will have excellent opportunities to engage in academy improvement and professional development activities across the wider Harris Federation. We can offer you the opportunity to advance your career within a supportive academy environment. You will be part of a Federation established in developing practitioners and nurturing excellent future leaders, with unrivalled opportunities for progression; whatever your aspirations as a teacher, middle or senior leader, our Teaching School Alliance provides a range of bespoke courses and qualifications, including our Aspiring Leaders NPQML and NPQSL programmes to help you achieve your ambitions more quickly.
We are looking for someone who will:
Support the Faculty Director in continuing to deliver our vision of an outstanding, inclusive academy with the highest standards of teaching, learning and pupil progress.
Contribute to raising standards of student attainment and to monitor the effectiveness of learning and teaching within the Faculty.

Harris Boys’ Academy East Dulwich opened in September 2009 and is judged Outstanding by Ofsted. Our vision is clear: nothing is impossible and everything is possible, irrespective of personal characteristics or background. Every problem has a solution. We believe we are more robust, resilient and determined as a team than as a group of individuals. The academy’s specialisms are Enterprise and Sport with a ‘can-do’ ethos of always improving upon your personal best. We have now reached our full capacity of 750 students across Years 7 to 11 and we work in partnership with Harris Federation Post 16.
